Kylie’s passion for music started at 13 when she performed in her first musical ‘Bye Bye Birdie’. This was just the start with many more musicals to come, vocal lessons, HSC music and from the age of 20 working professionally as a vocalist in duos, bands and cabaret and doing corporate work. .
Kylie trained as a Kindermusik Educator in 2005 working for 2 Sydney music studios before starting Jim Jam Music in Hornsby in 2006. Since then many more qualifications have been added to the resume including Orff Shulwerk Certification Level 1, Estill Voice Training Level 1, African Drumming Teacher Facilitator and many more. As well as teaching in the Hornsby studio and schools program , Kylie has been teaching Primary School Choir at Asquith Public School since 2011.
Professional achievements include Winning our Local Business Awards in 2018, Serving on the Board of Kindermusik Educators for 8 years and getting involved in local events and fundraising for our community including Hornsby Women’s Shelter and our local services that feed our community with 'The Wine, Women and Song Collective'. Kylie is grateful for the support of husband Roger and daughters Lexie and Jorja (and Jim Jam pooches Roxy and Mabel).
Strengths/Skills in: Voice, Puppetry, Stage Skills, Piano, Craft and Creative Play and all round fabulousness. Carmel is the ultimate connector, loved universally by babies, children, adults and four legged creatures.
Carmel joined Jim Jam in 2016 with a wealth of experience in performing and the arts sector having worked extensively in the thriving amateur theatre scene in her teens and twenties and also professionally in theatre and with the cabaret groups ‘Sister Act’ and ‘The Curvettes’. Carmel also worked professionally in Arts management working for Opera Australia, Ticketek and the Ensemble Theatre before she turned her career to education. Carmel is a qualified and licensed Kindermusik Educator, Certified in Orff Shulwerk Levels 1 & 2, African Drum Teacher Facilitator and keen lifelong learner.
Carmel is an active member of our local community, is on the Music Committee at her kids local school, a founding member of 'The Wine, Women and Song Collective' alongside Kylie and Sallianne McClelland running fundraising events for causes important to our community. Carmel has a beautiful family with husband Jim and children Gabriel and Clara.
Anna joined the Jim Jam Team in 2014 and is a valuable member of the team having worked in both administration and as a classroom teacher. .
Anna has a Bachelor of Music, is a highly experienced Kindermusik Educator, African Drum Facilitator, Orff Shulwerk Certification Level 1, Brains = Behaviour and currently plays the viola with the Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra.
Anna is a proud Kiwi (now Aussie) and lives
locally with husband Phil and kids Amelia, Sam and Lucy.
Claire joined us in 2022 having completed a Bachelor of Musical Theatre at AMPA (Academy of Music and Performing Arts). In 2023 Claire had a lead roles in ‘Heathers’ and “The Hunchback of Notre Dam’ with Blackout Theatre Company, and played Ursula in The Little Mermaid at Riverside Theatre parramatta with SYMT. Claire teaches both in our afterschool studio program, as a private voal teacher and as a mobile music teacher in our ELC/Preschool program.
Bec has been dancing her whole life and came to Jim Jam in 2019 to work at our Jam Camp school holiday program. We fell in love with her and her beautiful way of working with children and now have her as part of our team teaching Broadway Jam and Fundrum. Bec has a degree in Brain Science from Macquarie University, has studied dance at AMPA and in 2024 completed her African Drum Teacher Training. Bec also works at Studio Artes and with a disability services business. She is passionate about working with children and childre/adults with additional needs.
